SHARONVILLE, Ohio (WKRC) - Anderson pulled out a thriller over La Salle in the closing minutes to win the OHSAA Division II regional final, 28-21, and move on to the state semifinals.
With seconds left in the first quarter, Justice Burnham would find paydirt on a keeper from two-yards out to put the Raptors ahead 7-0.
It would stay that way into the second half. Claude Moore would get the Lancers on the board, scoring on a pick-six from 19-yards out to tie it before Burnham would dial up Caden Piening for a 45-yard house call on the ensuing drive.
Both teams would be deadlocked again after a Brady O'Connor run from three yards out for the Lancers, but Burnham would call his own number on a run from nine yards out to put Anderson back up front 20-14 with 7:17 to go in the fourth quarter.
O'Connor would score again to put the Lancers back in front under two minutes later, but Durrell Turner would answer to give the Raptors the lead on a 1-yard touchdown run with Burnham taking in a two-point conversion.
Anderson's defense would hold strong, with an interception by safety Jayonn Sanders sealing the deal.
